Rujuta suggests having something within 10 to 15 minutes of waking up. Eating during the first few hours after waking up helps to jumpstart your metabolism and keep you energetic throughout the day. She advises against drinking tea, coffee, or spices on an empty stomach. Taking spices in the morning may cause acne, while tea and coffee might cause stomach distress. Fresh fruit or nuts are the best things to eat first thing in the morning. Soaked almonds, walnuts, or bananas are all options.
